i have been known to make many sound financial decisions and am basically a money genius. not. earlier this week i made the necessary purchase of a gym membership and then several days later realised a ticket i got for doing a california roll was due. anyways the ticket cost way less than i was expecting, probably because i am used to the outrageous prices for tickets in south oc where the same california roll infraction would set you back $500. so anyways that stuff and the dmv pretty much wiped me out. after working 10-7 yesterday my well-intentioned plans of going to the gym after work with a friend ended up turning into let's just go get beers instead. so my $35 that i have to last me until payday was wisely invested in long island iced teas, a 12 pack of modelos purchased at 7/11, and a hangover induced trip through the mcdonalds drive through.

in other news, i lost ten lbssssssss. my birthday is coming up and seeing as i havent celebrated it for the past two years, im thinking of doing something this year. i think the fyf fest, since it lands on my bday, sept. 4th.

i've kind of fallen off the earth a little bit lately, and have basically been hibernating. this may go on indefintiely

VACAY

i went on a vacation finally, around the southwest. it was enjoyable but a ton of driving. i went to the four corners, ate fry bread on an indian reservation and did mostly a lot of nothing.




i also saw the continental divide, which is not like a line down the exact middle of the continent, but more like the spine of it. basically it means that water flows in opposite directions on either side of it. my geography student dropout knowledge is really useful, right?








and i went to these anasazi ruins. they are on the side of a mesa/canyon and you have to climb down them on these ladders and it's so high up i got dizzy from the altitude.

i also went to the rocky mountain national park north of denver and stayed in a cabin.

On tuesday i went to the best coast and health show at the echoplex. when we (myself and tow friends) got there it was sold out and they weren't letting people in. To make a long story short, my two friends both managed to sneak in and i ended up having to pay and talk my way into the sold out show. whatever. anyways best coast was great as usual. it's weird to go to her shows now when just a few months ago the crowd was much thinner. The show was made better by the rum we had snuck in. Health was suprising really great. that's all. maybe i will post another entry soon, but i'm trying to not post mopey shit on the internet cuz that's tacky, right?

I MISS CARBS

so i have been trying to limit my carb intake for the better part of two weeks now, and aside from a few slip-ups (frozen pizza and chile limon cheetos from 7/11 + like 12 tecates one night,) i feel like i'm doing an okay job. i also haven't drank a diet coke in 5 days which is pretty miraculous considering i usually drink more of it then water. i'm going to try and limit caffeine in general, but it's gonna have to be in phases. smoking has become a bit of a crutch for me during this strict diet, but who needs lungs? so enough about my vacuous summer diet journal.
so i was at work yesterday and this oc housewife was demanding the handicapped fitting room becuase she had a stroller. this sounds reasonable, except for the fact the in her stroller was a dog? anyways somehow she got the room and shortly after that a line began to form of women with strollers containing actual human babies. why are people so fucking weirddd.

huuhhh so yesterday i saw kick ass. it was alright. entertaining in an in-flight movie sort of way. significantly better than hot tub time machine, however, which was truly abysmal. i have a knack for seeing terrible movies. anyways, so there is this band called grimes whose new album, geidi primes, has been on heavy rotation this week. my thirteen year old self is way into the dune references, and my twenty two year old self is way into the lo-fi stoner pop fuzz, LIKE TOTALLY. i mean it takes guts to make a concept album with titles like "zoal, the face dancer," "caladan," and "shadout mapes."

so i've been working full-time for the past few weeks now, and that's new. it hasn't really been that much of a drastic change as i was maybe thinking it would be, the only thing is that i have essentially no free time. this is probably a good thing considering excess free time is what gets me into trouble. i no longer have cable so i have gotten into the habit of watching some strange things, namely king of the hill and old star trek reruns. i'm not ashamed to admit what a nerd i am! anyways, the other day an infomercial caught my attention, and i may have bought a workout dvd from it? i'm actually excited to delve into it though, it's really different from things i have done in the past. basically gay people are like really weird, right? i was at work today and these two fags come prancing up to the register, clearly throwing some shade/rudeness/catty dumb fag shit my direction. there was some cow who threw her shit on the counter, demanding that someone put it on hold for her while she sorts through each and every item individually giving some spiel about who gives a fuck. anyways a line had began to form so i tried to speed these two horrible queens along. they were those type of gays who dress like what they imagine in their 53-year old heads is how "TEENZ" dress these days. basically they are the fags who wear affliction tee's and true religion jeans. i didn't have time to fold their tacky shit and i will admit i did stuff it into the bag somewhat gruffly, but there was a line! anyways, the old fag with frosted tips rears his stupid face around and gives me a magnificent stank eye. his younger latin boy starts chattering about how shocking this service was, aka me not folding their shit. why is it that 99% of gay men are seriously horrible?

another thing that is weird is gay cops. i'm all for fags stepping out of what jobs society deems appropriate for them, but serving our government as a pig doesn't sit well with me.

so last night i went out to this "art show" in bev hills. the best way to describe it would be art by rockabilly/"aLteRna-GirLz" who also happen like "love lady gaga, i mean she's like so AVANT GARDEEE." whatever. anyways the friend i went with and i wen't outside of the "aqua-lounge" to the smoking area, which was really just an alley facing the Restoration hardware loading dock and smoked a joint. after finishing our $12 watered-down jack and cokes, we proceeded to smoke another joint at this park, HEYYYYY. anyways, there is really no point to this post, other than i had a good night with good company. I do miss going out like i used too, like when i when to la like every week. living in orange county is weirddddd!

not really all that much has been going on lately. i have been super tempted to go to europe for a week on a random spur of the moment trip, but that would be very irresponsible, even for me. i certainly have cabin fever though. it's finally a nice day after all this rain, beach weather is not far off.

today i woke up early to be at work at 8 am only to realize upon arriving that i was opening tomorrow. after that i came home and watched about thirty minutes of i am sam and spent the rest of the morning listening to broken social scene and taking stupid Internet quizzes. i really am in need of a shake up life-wise. i keep making plans but sticking to nothing, and just getting drunk/high/bored whatever instead. i guess i am kind of realizing that maybe i need to start thinking about what i can do to earn money.

anyways enough mopiness. jj are kind of blowing up lately and i'm pretty into it. here's to having a less glum/positive/productive/healthy week.
